DFACE is an automatic, private, and open-source face redaction web application developed by Adam Harvey, designed to help activists and social media users protect personal identities in images before posting online. The app uses the YOLOV5 neural network object detection framework and can process up to 1,000 faces per image, offering different effects such as color fill, blur, or emoji. DFACE is part of the VFRAME project and is supported by the NGI0 PET Fund under the European Commission’s Next Generation Internet programme.
