Tronador is an extinct stratovolcano located in the southern Andes, along the border between Argentina and Chile. It was named after the sound of falling seracs ("Tronador" means "Thunderer" in Spanish), and with an elevation of 3,470 meters, it stands significantly taller than surrounding mountains. Tronador, a popular mountaineering destination, has eight glaciers and lies within two national parks: Nahuel Huapi in Argentina and Vicente Pérez Rosales in Chile.

Just signed up to ski the Tronador (Andes/Argentina) in December — excited!
